About
Every two years the California State Lands Commission presents its Prevention First symposium. Prevention First is an onshore and offshore pollution prevention symposium and technology exhibition. Experts and professionals from academia, industry and government from around the country gather at this important event to share information and introduce concepts in pollution prevention, with a focus on marine invasive species prevention, environmental protection, sea-level rise preparedness and climate change resilience, marine oil terminal engineering and maintenance standards, pipeline safety, risk analysis, and many other areas involving maritime safety and pollution prevention. Join the Prevention First Updates e-list to receive the latest updates from the Commission.
The California State Lands Commission made the difficult decision to reschedule our fourteenth biennial Prevention First 2020 Symposium due to the unprecedented challenges associated with COVID-19 but the Commission is planning to convene the next Prevention First in the Fall of 2025.
