This report synthesizes the sea level rise vulnerability assessments local trustees submitted to the Commission under AB 691 (Muratsuchi) Chapter 592, Statutes of 2013. The report identifies the major findings from the assessments relative to sea level rise vulnerability and adaptation strategies and summarizes common challenges trustees experienced when developing the vulnerability assessments. The report includes recommendations to improve sea level rise preparedness, ranging from processes to assess vulnerability to planning for and implementing adaptation strategies that will increase the resiliency of California’s public trust lands.
