The City of Monterey was granted sovereign lands in trust in 1868. In 1919, the original grant and its amendments were repealed and a new statute was enacted. The trust lands may be used for commerce, navigation, fisheries, and recreation.
The City is required by Section 6306 of the Public Resources Code to complete an annual financial statement and standardized reporting form for trust lands on or before December 31 of each year.
