The California State Lands Commission will hold a public meeting to discuss crucial land and resource management items and their environmental impacts. Officials from the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach will detail their efforts to manage public trust lands on the state’s behalf, including updates on air quality and other improvements in port operations. The Commission also will commemorate the 40-year commitment by the Amigos de Bolsa Chica to protect and restore the historic Bolsa Chica wetlands.

Where: The Port of Los Angeles Board Hearing Room, Harbor Administration Building 425 S. Palos Verdes Street in San Pedro. The meeting will also be webcast at www.cal-span.org.
Commissioners include State Controller and Commission Chair Betty T. Yee, Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom, and State Director of Finance Michael Cohen. The Commission manages more than 4 million acres of public land and resources, including the beds of navigable rivers, lakes, and streams, and tide and submerged lands along the state’s more than 1,100 miles of coastline. The Commission also manages school lands and public lands granted in trust to local jurisdictions, prevents oil spills at offshore platforms and marine oil terminals, and protects state waters from marine invasive species introductions.
