Public Notice – Temporary Use of Lookout Park Parking Lot
The California State Lands Commission and its consultant, 2HOffshore (previously InterAct), will perform well re-abandonment (re-sealing) work on the leaking wells, known as Treadwell 1 & Treadwell 5, which are located approximately 300 ft. offshore and in approximately 20 ft. water depth.

Summary of shoreline hazards removal from Haskell’s Beach
In November 2020, the Commission and its consultants removed coastal hazards in the City of Goleta that were exposed because of eroding bluffs
Well re-abandonment complete offshore Summerland Beach
Last month, the Commission, using a barge, divers, and other equipment, successfully capped two leaking legacy wells offshore Summerland Beach in Santa Barbara County. The work, which required permits from multiple state and federal agencies, including CalGem and the California Coastal Commission, went smoothly and was completed on schedule.
